Role: In-house Photographer & Social Media Officer
Context: Al Jazeera Children’s Channel / Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy
01_PROJECT_OVERVIEW
Documentation of the 2016 and 2017 international under-12 football tournaments for Al Jazeera Children. The event involved teams from across the Arab region, serving as a flagship grassroots initiative hosted in Doha’s premier sporting venues.
02_OPERATIONAL_DOCUMENTATION
The remit covered the full event lifecycle, including the technical assembly of opening ceremonies, rehearsals, and high-intensity match-day coverage. These assets supported press releases and social media campaigns used to drive regional engagement and ticket sales.
03_CULTURAL_CONTEXT
Beyond the tournament fixtures, I documented team visitations to diplomatic missions and embassy events. This content provided a human-interest layer to the project, highlighting the role of sport in cultural diplomacy and community cohesion.
04_STRATEGIC_LEGACY
The visual data and engagement metrics informed the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s ‘Generation Amazing’ programme. This work contributed to the research and social legacy playbooks used for the 2022 World Cup fan experience and community engagement strategies.
