A feature-length documentary looking at Libya’s journey 15 years after the 2011 uprising. Having filmed raw, personal accounts of survival and loss on the ground during the revolution, I am building a project to ensure these voices are never forgotten and to keep the conversation on justice alive.

Fifteen years after the uprising, Libya is still a country divided, struggling with broken systems and a stalled peace. “Forgotten Tears” is an honest look at how the country shifted from the hopeful Benghazi protests of 2011 to the fragile, complicated peace we see today.

02 // The Interviews

The heart of this film lies in footage I captured on the ground in Libya between 2011 and 2012. I sat down with survivors of state-sanctioned torture and people who fought on the front lines, recording raw, painful memories before they are lost to history.

03 // The Trailer

The recently released trailer is a window into these lives. It distils hours of intense interviews into a short, powerful story of grief and resilience, designed to remind the world of what happened and restart the conversation on Libya’s future.

04 // Seeking Justice

We want this film to do more than sit in a cinema. I am working with human rights organisations and universities to bring these stories into classrooms and policy discussions, ensuring the victims’ voices can actually help shape the future of justice in the region.

05 // The Timeline

Forgotten Tears is currently in production, with the full feature documentary set to release later in 2027. The launch will be paired with targeted screenings, advocacy campaigns, and community discussions.
