The Visual Narrative
On 17 February 2011, Libya reached a point of no return. This series documents the transition from the first protests at the London Embassy to the high-stakes reality of the frontline. Hitchhiking across the Tunisian-Libyan border during the height of the conflict, I sought to capture the “unseen signals” of the revolution—the grit of the resistance, and the human faces behind a nation in flux.
Technical Methodology
Captured during a period of extreme instability, this archive combines raw, candid street photography. The documentation prioritises narrative authenticity, focusing on expressive signals, from the hope of the early eastern uprisings to the complex geopolitical fallout of NATO intervention.
Ethical Curation
In line with my “Do No Harm” protocol, this collection is carefully curated to respect the current landscape of national reconciliation. I have intentionally omitted pro-regime documentation to mitigate the risk of contemporary retaliation, ensuring the work serves as a bridge for historical memory rather than a catalyst for further friction.
