Documenting a seven-year computer science partnership. I built a visual record of the flagship annual summit, capturing the ideas shared between global scientists and the growth of Qatar’s next generation of tech talent.

01 // The Partnership

The QCRI-MIT Annual Meet is the core forum for a seven-year computer science research programme. My job was to document the intellectual sparks between the Qatar Computing Research Institute and MIT CSAIL, showing how they are working together to build the country’s tech capacity.

02 // The Ideas

I photographed the event’s key moments, from talks by computing pioneers like Daniela Rus and Michael Stonebraker to quiet, intense debates in hallways. My focus was on capturing the human effort behind complex projects in cybersecurity and big data.

03 // Nurturing Talent

One of the best parts of the event was the “Coding is Cool” workshops. I documented the moments when senior MIT and QCRI researchers sat down with local secondary-school students to help them write their first lines of code, visually demonstrating the programme’s commitment to young talent.

04 // The Archive

The library of photos I created serves as the official archive of the partnership. These images have been used in news recaps, social media, and institutional briefings, giving stakeholders real, visual proof of what this collaboration has accomplished.
